Originally I bought a silver watch like this one at the jewelry store for my daughter. She loved it. Then I saw it on Amazon for much less at amazon. I didn't think it would be exactly the same thing but ordered one for myself in gold. It can in the same box as the one I bought at the jewelry store and was exactly thesame thing but cheaper. The item is great, but...

The item was duly shipped and exactly as advertised. I am happy with it.

However, the warranty card was not endorsed by Amazon, leaving me with the possibility that Movado's 2-year warranty would not be available to me. Since Amazon's 30-day return policy was exhausted by the shipment's transit time, it appears that I am now be without any warranty whatsoever.

So I sent a query to Amazon almost one week ago - and to date have had no response or acknowledgment. This is making me kind of nervous. I have done quite a bit of business with Amazon, and have developed a measure of confidence in the company - a factor in making this most recent $300 purchase - the largest yet.

The possibility that Amazon may be playing the same "try and find me" game that is true of many online vendors is scary, to say the least. And if true would certainly make me think twice about future purchases from their website, regardless of the value of the item. Even eBay facilitates communication between buyer and seller, something I presumed would be equally true of Amazon. Was I in error?

I truly hope the fears I have expressed are groundless and that this coming week will bring a response and some assurance about the warranty.
When (and if!!!) this happens I will be pleased to post a follow-up comment.

And I just had another scary thought . . will this review be processed by a computer with no programmed interest in Amazon's role - even when Amazon is the seller? Well, we'll see. By Robbins

Best Buy on Movado!
After much consideration, Movado was definitely my watch of choice. The minimalist styling, Swiss movement, and known quality make Movado the "Mercedes" of wristwatches (IMHO and even tho Mercedes was German and is now US.)

Anyway, after shopping fine jewelry stores and trying on the various styles (ladies), I chose the Amarosa because I have a small wrist and this one CAN be sized down (contrary to another review here.) I just had three links removed and it fits like a dream now! I did not, however, want to pay the $500 full price at local jewelry stores. I purchased at $249.00 through Amazon (direct, not through a partner.) Now it's even less ($239.00 as of this writing.) This is an authentic Movado complete with rounded leather-like box, documentation and genuine Movado materials.

A trusted local jeweler, who sized it for me, confirmed it is "real." So, you can buy direct from Amazon with confidence and receive a FIVE year warranty. I love mine! It would make someone who loves Movado, as much as I do, a Very Merry Christmas gift. By E.J. Morgan

buyer beware, this watch is not water resistant

I purchased this watch for my wife for christmas.It is supposed to be water resistant.I already is getting moisture under the crystal if it gets wet at all,she does not swim with it.Now it has to be sent off to be repaired.I am hoping the moisture will not affect the watch in the future.movado would warrenty for life,amazon's is 5 years. I recieved this watch 3 years ago when it was fairly new on the market for a Christmas present . I was really happy considering I had been eyeing the watch for months. I had always wanted a Movado. This two-toned diamond version fits my versatile style perfectly.

Although Anyone that buys this watch should get some sort of warranty because my watch came from Kay Jewelers and I dropped it on my ceramic tile bathroom floor in less than a year and the sapphire Crystal shattered. When I inquired at the store the warranty was not purchased and I had to pay 320.00 for them to ship it to Movado for repairs etc. I was torn do I give up a 800.00 watch for 320.00 dollars or do I repair the watch and have it for many years to come. I chose the later and I still love it as much as I did when I first recieved it. I always get compliments on it and even though I shoud not, I wear it as an everyday watch something that should be reserved for my two-toned Seiko. Just be careful if you are taking your watch off around hardfloor surfaces that you do not drop it and have to get the Crystal replaced. By K. Morris

BEWARE OF WARRANTY
I purchased my Movado Amorosa Watch through Amazon less than only 4 months ago. It is a beautiful watch, but unfortunately the band just recently came apart at the hinge section just below where it mounts to the case.

Local jewelers told me this must be repaired by an Authorized Movado Service Center as they were not able to repair it and it being a manufacturing defect. HOWEVER, due to it being purchased online through Amazon the manufacturer's warranty is VOID since it was not purchased through an authorized dealer. Amazon only offers a 30 day return, so now I have to pay to have the band serviced or replaced!!! BEWARE- basically you will only get a 30 day warrenty with any Movado purchase online! By K. Wallin
